As part of the Youth Insights program, we meet artists in
our Artist and Youth: A Dialogue series. Participants in
the program moderate a lively conversation with well-known contemporary
artists, providing a forum in which high school youth can interact
with artists, exchange views, and form ideas about contemporary
art.

Artist and Youth A Dialogue, as well as read some of the
comments from YI participants and the artists about their work.
What's Up? At The Whitney: A Teen Night Out is a
great opportunity for teens to exchange their ideas about art
then
dance the night away with their peers in the museum's lower gallery.
We have two a year. Check out our Calendar
of Events for the next Teen Night! Don't miss it!
On May 11, 2001, we launched a new event as part of our programming,
calling it "What's Up? At The Whitney." What's Up? At
The Whitney will provide a cool and safe environment for teens
to come and engage in contemporary events and dialogues. Sound artists
Nate Harrison and Ron Croudy of töshöklabs talked about techno-sound,
hip-hop, DJ/rave culture and the Internet during an Artists and
Youth: A Dialogue. Directly following the discussion, Youth
Insights participants led an interactive tour of the BitStreams
exhibition. Following the tour, sound artists of töshöklabs played
selections from their catalogue for the rest of the evening. Everyone
loved the event and so a new tradition in Youth Insight was
launched.
